    Opening Moves

    by Steven James

When an author opens a book with a letter to readers stating that he had nightmares while writing the novel, you know you are in for a ride. That is how Steven James’ newest Patrick Bowers novel begins.

Opening Moves is a gritty hard-hitting look at man’s inhumanity to man. The author stays true to his other novels while introducing us to how Bowers got his start. This story involves looking at cases like Jeffery Dahmer and others like him. Sensitive readers can likely be disturbed by the graphic subject matter.

However, Patrick’s exploration of man’s inhumanity and sinfulness and what is the difference between the “bad guys” and the “good guys” is a very thought provoking and jarring wake up call for Christians of all sensibilities.
