Lew Wallace
Lew Wallace was an American lawyer and Civil War general. His novel Ben Hur has been called "the most influential Christian book of the 19th century." Wallace took up writing as a diversion to studying the law, and Ben Hur was his second novel. Since its publication, it has never been out of print.
